Half of India’s labor market is said to be devoted to agriculture, but the average Indian farmer is small or in subsistance farming. At the same time, India grows key crops that are in demand by multinational corporations.
In India, Tanager is building a sustainable supply chain of quality mint oil that improves livelihoods, addresses water stress, and builds resilient farmers. Our lab-to-land process allows us to test new agricultural techniques and technologies, learn, and scale what works for the maximum benefit of farmers and the corporations that rely on their crops. In addition, our inclusive model supports women to lead off-farm income diversification initiatives.
