Assignment
Tanager is seeking the professional services of a graphic design firm and/or individual to provide graphic design/visual marketing support for a variety of communications materials, including marketing collateral, PowerPoint presentations, reports, proposals, projects, and any other needs that Tanager requires. All materials would be developed within Tanager branding, communication and donor guidelines to support the organization’s and projects’ communications strategies.
The assignment does not require travel to the project site or printing of the material developed.
This will be a Blanket Purchase Agreement with the intent to streamline the ordering process and eliminate the need for issuance of standalone contracts. While Tanager reserves the right to issue a Work Order for any item stated in the Scope of Work, it is not obligated to purchase any minimum amount.
Responsibilities/Tasks
The graphic designer is expected to provide, as needed:
Basic print and digital graphic production work, including
- The design of printing and digital graphics, marketing collateral, reports, and/or presentations;
- Versioning designs and expanding templates;
- Edits to materials as needed; production file preparation;
- Appropriate file upload/release to vendors and/or internal partners; and
- Basic project management communications services.
High-level conceptual/strategic work, including
- Potential identity and brand creation;
- High-level conceptual design work, such as advertising campaign ideation and execution; brand and/or marketing strategy services; and, process management consultation.
Tanager will provide the selected vendor(s) with brand guidelines and project background and guidelines as needed for each assignment.
Qualifications
- Strong theoretical and practical background in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
- At least 5 years’ experience designing communications materials and visually informative graphics and images, such as fact sheets, infographics, reports, banners, brochures, and PPT presentations
- Experience working with international organizations in communications material development. Past performance under similar/related service.
- Experience working in collaboration with both communications and technical teams and delivering under tight deadlines.
- Experience transforming complex data sets into compelling and creative visualizations that emphasize impact.
- Expert interpersonal skills and a strong team player.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Level of Effort and Activity Details
Based on the expected output, the designer, in their best judgement and in consultation with the Tanager Senior Director of Strategic Communications, will determine the most appropriate timeframe for completing the work assignment after an issuance of the work order.
Billing and Invoicing
Billing codes and information. All allowable costs for this activity will be charged to the appropriate Tanager Project Code #, as per Work Order.
