Caroline Mukeku is a Gender Expert in the IGNITE program, providing leadership on the development of tools, resources, and models that will facilitate the integration of gender into agriculture interventions within African Institutions. Caroline brings over 12 years of experience in community and organization development with extensive experience in program implementation in the areas of gender mainstreaming, community mobilization, participatory research, monitoring, learning and evaluation and grants management,specifically in the agricultural sector. She brings on board over 10 years experience in working on gender and youth in the dairy, horticulture, coffee and tea value chains within various multi-country programs. She has supported the development of several gender and youth toolkits, and as a seasoned trainer for trainer, is a key resource person in building the capacity of other gender experts on numerous gender related approaches and methodologies. Caroline holds an M.A in Sociology (Rural Sociology and Community Development) – University of Nairobi, as well as a BCom (Accounting) – Daystar University. Caroline is passionate about giving opportunities to both men and women in the society for sustainable development, and considers giving women a choice, a voice and an opportunity as a key to changing the trajectory of sustainable development in Africa.
