Sami Saran
Deputy Country Representative, India
Sami Saran oversees India operations as the Deputy Country Representative. Prior to joining Tanager in 2022, Saran served as Team Leader of the Feed the Future Bangladesh Rice and Diversified Crops Activity, funded by USAID and implemented by Tanager’s affiliate organization ACDI/VOCA. He has more than 30 years of experience leading corporations, such as Olam International, Reliance Retail, and Rift Valley, in India and Africa. His in-depth knowledge of international trade in food and agro-commodities spans Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, with specific assignments in Nigeria, Uganda, Mozambique, Dubai, and Bangladesh. He has lived and worked in Africa for more than 14 years and is dedicated to agricultural development. Saran holds an MBA in international trade from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in New Delhi.
