Associate Director, Social & Behavioral Change, ACDI/VOCA, USA
Sarah Sahlaney is an associate director for social and behavior change and gender at ACDI/VOCA, where she works with USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and World Food Programme projects to identify and change target behaviors. Sarah combines approaches from sociology, psychology, behavioral economics, and public health to identify barriers to behavior change and motivators. She promotes behavior change across the full spectrum of human behaviors, including those in agriculture and livestock, women’s empowerment, agricultural cooperative development, finance, and marketing. Sarah holds a master’s in community and regional development and a master’s in international agricultural development, both from the University of California, Davis, as well as a bachelor’s in foreign service from Georgetown University.
