Phuti Mabokela

Phuti Mabokela is the team leader representing Tanager in South Africa who manages relationships with partners and public and private entities, oversees project management and implementation, and performs other financial and supervisory tasks. Prior to joining Tanager in 2022, Mabokela served South Africa’s Department of Agriculture for more than 12 years. He also worked for several international NGOs and as a private consultant on agro-processing and farmer development. He served as a chairperson of the Gauteng Coordinating Committee on Agricultural Water. Mabokela earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural administration from the University of Limpopo (formerly the University of the North). He is fluent in English, Sotho, Zulu, Xhosa, Venda.
