Dear Friends,
Before we all get too busy in the new year, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to Tanager’s corporate and philanthropic partners, the communities we serve, our experts, and our parent company, ACDI/VOCA. In 2019 and beyond, Tanager will strive to unlock economic and social opportunity for workers throughout Africa, Asia, South America, the Middle East, and in rural communities in the United States. We are proud and grateful to work with committed and compassionate partners towards this shared goal.
Thank you to Tanager’s implementing partners including Acumen, AGRA, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Diageo, Deloitte Consulting, ICCO, IFAD, Mars Wrigley Confectionery, Mars, UNDP, Walmart, the Walmart Foundation, the World Food Programme, Vegpro Group, and many more. These corporations and foundations understand the importance of investing in the communities behind the products. We thank them for their commitment to sustainability and for trusting Tanager to deliver.
Thank you to Rosalie Bafiogo, and all the hardworking people we serve. Rosalie is a smallholder farmer and community leader in rural Burkina Faso and receives support from SELEVER – a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-supported project. Rosalie raises poultry and educates her community on farming practices, the importance of maternal and child nutrition, and the necessity of girls’ education. Without Rosalie, and thousands of women and men like her in Africa, Asia, South America, and the Middle East, Tanager’s work would not be possible.
Finally, I want to thank our experts and staff worldwide. Last week our team in India was honored with the Krishi Bhusan (Pioneers in Agriculture) Award for their contribution to excellence in agriculture. This award is a timely example of why, throughout the world, Tanager’s on-the-ground expertise is trusted by corporations and foundations to efficiently and effectively manage interventions that have a positive impact on people’s lives.
